General Terms and Conditions Of Sale
Article 1 - Scope of the general terms and conditions of sale
These general terms and conditions of sale (hereinafter the “T&Cs”) automatically govern all sales of stays processed on the website www.camping-gatteville.fr, via Secureholiday.net System and Alliances network, which are online booking platforms.
They form an integral part of any agreement between the campsite and its customers.
Every customer confirms they have read and understood these T&Cs before booking their stay, for themselves and all other people staying under the same booking.
In accordance with current French law, these T&Cs are provided to all customers for information purposes before any agreement is concluded for the sale of a stay (the T&Cs are available to download on the website and can be provided upon request). They can also be obtained upon request by writing to the head office at 43 Route du Val de Saire, 50760 Gatteville-Phare, France.
Article 2 - Our services
Bare site
This is a bare site for your tent, caravan or motorhome.
Your stay is calculated using a fixed base price which includes one tent, caravan or motorhome, one vehicle and one or two adults. Access to the campsite facilities, entertainment and toilet blocks is also included.
Additional costs not included in the fixed price and which may be added to it are: additional people (max. 6 per site: adults and children), electricity, additional vehicle or trailer, pets and occupancy tax.
Rental holiday accommodation
The rental price includes a mobile home and its equipment: resin garden furniture set with table, chairs and sun umbrella. Washing line. Pillows, duvets and/or blankets. Tableware (complete 6- or 8-place set): plates, salad bowls, frying pans, saucepans, cooking pots, coffee pot + filter holder, microwave, small utensils (bottle opener, tin opener, etc.), broom, bowl and bucket. Gas, 6 Amp electricity, water and daily campsite fees for the rental holiday accommodation's capacity + parking space for one car and access to the campsite and recreation facilities. The number of occupants must not exceed that stated on the agreement, including children and babies. (The living room bench seat cannot be used as a bed in any situation).
All of our mobile homes are non-smoking. Should our servicing staff need to perform work in the holiday accommodation (repairs/maintenance), the customer agrees that this inconvenience may occur and that no damages or compensation may be claimed.
Article 3 - Booking terms
3.1 Rates and payment
The rates for stays are given in euros inclusive of tax. Customers are informed that the occupancy tax is not included in the price. This tax is gathered from customers by the campsite, then paid to the Cotentin integrated area council.
For the deposit and/or balance, the following methods of payment are accepted:
Bank cheque, holiday voucher (chèque vacance), bank transfer, cash, bank card (in July/August or on our website via the PAYline online payment module).
For site bookings: All bookings are personal and cannot be transferred. Bookings are only confirmed after we have approved them and received the full deposit amount and signed agreement.
For holiday rental bookings: All bookings are personal and for the maximum number of guests stated. Bookings cannot be transferred. Bookings are only confirmed after we have approved them and received the full deposit amount.
Bookings via SecureHoliday and payment by bank card: Booking requests are processed within 72 hours.
Bookings by email, telephone or post, or deferred payment when booking online: The deposit and signed agreement must be returned within 4 days or the tentative booking will be cancelled without prior notice. The signed agreement is optional for customers who have agreed to the T&Cs.
When we receive your booking and deposit of 30% of the price of your stay, we will send you a written booking confirmation.
If two booking requests are sent at the same time, the first confirmation received will be approved. The next customer will be offered an equivalent option or another period, or refunded the deposit if they paid by bank card online.
The balance for the price of the stay and the occupancy tax must be paid upon arrival at the latest.
For all non-notified delayed arrivals, the holiday accommodation/site will become available to others the day after the arrival date stated on your booking agreement. Once this time frame has lapsed, if no written message has been received the booking will become null and void and the full price of the stay will be payable.
3.2 Amending bookings
No discount will be offered in the event of delayed arrival or early departure.
3.3 Cancellation
For cancellations made more than 60 days before the start of your stay, the deposit will be refunded minus a €30 administration fee.
For cancellations made between 60 and 30 days before the start of your stay, the deposit will not be refunded as it will be used to cover the cancellation costs and compensate for the agreement termination.
For cancellations made less than 30 days before the start of your stay, the full amount is payable.
You can take out cancellation insurance with the provider of your choice or our partner, Groupama, whose proposal and policy terms are available on our website.
3.4 Withdrawal
The legal provisions regarding the right to withdrawal in the case of remote sales, provided under the French Consumer Code, do not apply to tourism services (Article L.121-20-4 of the French Consumer Code).
As such, for all booking orders submitted to the campsite, customers do not enjoy the right of withdrawal.
Article 4 - Stays
4.1 Arriving and leaving
For all sites, a night's stay is from 12pm to 12pm, plus or minus 2 hours. Any site that has not been vacated by 2pm will automatically be charged as an additional night.
For rental holiday accommodation: arrival between 4pm and 7pm. Report to reception, located at the campsite entrance, with your booking confirmation. You must notify us of any late arrival before 7pm so we can take the necessary steps for your arrival at the campsite.
Departure is between 9am and 11am.
For any late arrival or early departure, the booked dates remain payable in full, along with the related fees.
4.2 Bonds
A bond of €450 per holiday accommodation and equipment, and another bond of €50, must be prepared and presented on the day you arrive. An inspection will be carried out and the report must be signed when you receive and when you return the keys. The bonds will be returned to you on the day of your departure, during reception open hours. Any damage will be charged in addition to the price of your stay, as will a cleaning fee if you do not leave the accommodation in a clean state. If you cannot be present during the inspection, the bond will be returned to you by post within 15 days.
4.3 Animals
One animal is permitted inside the holiday accommodation. Please bring your pet's bed and vaccination booklet. Your pet must never be left alone in the accommodation or at the site. We reserve the right to refuse any animal whose size is not appropriate for the rental holiday accommodation. Category 1 and 2 dogs are prohibited.
4.4 Campsite rules
As required by law, you must comply with our campsite rules which are displayed at reception. A copy can also be provided to you upon request.
1 - Terms of entry and stay
You must be authorised by the manager or his/her representative in order to enter, set up and stay at the campsite. The manager and representative have a duty to ensure the campsite is well-run and orderly, and to ensure these rules are enforced. By staying at the campsite, you are deemed to have agreed to these campsite rules and will comply with them. Nobody may use this campsite as an address for service.
2 – Police formalities
Anyone wanting to stay one night or more at the campsite must first present their ID to the manager or representative and complete the formalities required by the police. Minors not accompanied by their parents will only be allowed entry with the written permission of their parents.
3- Setting up
Outdoor accommodation and related equipment must be set up on the indicated site in accordance with the instructions of the manager or representative.
4 – Reception
Reception is open from 8.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 8.00pm in July and August (hours may vary in the low season). At reception, campers can find all the information they need about the campsite's services, grocery options, sports facilities, wealth of nearby tourist attractions and various useful contact details. A complaint lodging and handling system is available to customers. Complaints are only processed if they are signed and dated, giving as much information as possible and relating to relatively recent events.
5- Noticeboard
These rules are displayed at the campsite entrance and in reception. They can be provided to customers on request.
La Ferme du Bord de Mer campsite is a 2-star establishment with 55 tourist sites.
6 - Fees
Fees are paid at reception. The fee schedule is displayed at the campsite entrance and reception. They are charged according to the number of nights spent at the campsite, with a night's stay being from 12pm to 12pm plus or minus 2 hours. Campsite users are asked to notify the reception of their departure the day before. Campers intending to leave before reception opens in the morning must pay their fees the day before.
7- Noise and silence
Campers are asked to avoid all noise and discussions that may disturb their neighbours. Noise-producing devices must therefore be adjusted accordingly. Closing car doors and car boots must be done as discreetly as possible.
Dogs and other pets must never be allowed to roam free. They must not be left on the campsite grounds, even locked in, without their owners who are civilly liable for them. There must be total silence between 10pm and 8am.
8 - Visitors
After being authorised by the manager or representative, visitors may be granted access to the campsite grounds under the responsibility of the campers hosting them. Campers may welcome one or more visitors at reception. If their visitors are allowed entry to La Ferme du Bord de Mer's campsite, the hosting camper is required to pay a fee. This fee gives the visitors the right to use the campsite's services and/or facilities. This fee is displayed at the campsite entrance and reception.
9 – Vehicle movement and parking
Within the campsite grounds, vehicles are restricted to a maximum speed of 10 km/h. Sites and accommodation can be accessed after 10pm subject to care being taken not to disturb other campers' sleep. Only vehicles belonging to current campers may enter the campsite grounds. Parking must not hinder vehicle movement or new arrivals setting up.
10 - Facilities maintenance and appearance
Nobody must take any action that may harm the cleanliness, hygiene or appearance of the campsite grounds or facilities, including the toilet blocks.
Pouring waste water on the ground or into the gutters is prohibited. Customers must empty their waste water at the facilities provided.
The rubbish station is located at the campsite entrance. Household waste and any other type of waste must be disposed of in a tied plastic bag by placing it in the green bins. Paper, newspaper, cardboard, plastic and glass must be separately disposed of in the recycling bins at the same station.
It is strictly prohibited to do laundry except in the tubs provided for this use. Clothes may be hung up to dry until 10am near your tent or other accommodation, subject this being done discreetly and not disturbing your neighbours. They must never be hung from trees.
The condition of the garden beds and floral decorations must be respected.
It is prohibited to put nails in trees, cut branches or create garden beds.
It is also prohibited to mark out your site using personal means and to dig the soil. The cost of all repairs for damage caused to vegetation, fences and campsite facilities will be borne by the person responsible.
All sites and accommodation used during your stay must be maintained in the same state as you found them upon arrival.
11 - Safety
a/ Fire
Open fires (wood, charcoal, etc.) are strictly prohibited.
Camping stoves must be properly maintained and not used under dangerous conditions.
In the event of a fire, immediately notify the management. Fire extinguishers can be used when needed. A first aid kit is available at reception.
b/ Theft
Management is responsible for items deposited at reception and has a general duty to provide campsite surveillance. Campers remain responsible for their own site or accommodation and must notify the manager if they see any suspicious people. Campers are encouraged to take their usual precautions to protect their equipment.
12 – Games
No violent or nuisance games will be tolerated near sites, accommodation or facilities. Communal rooms cannot be used for rough games.
There are signs at each playground indicating the ages for using them. Children must always be supervised by their parents and are under their responsibility.
13 - Winter storage
Equipment may only be left on an occupied site with the authorisation of management, and must only be on the stated site. A fee, shown on the schedule of fees in reception, is payable for winter storage.
14 – Campsite rule offences
If a camper disrupts the stay of other campsite users or breaches these campsite rules, the manager or representative may give formal notice, verbally or in writing if deemed necessary, to that person to cease the disruption.
In the event of a serious or repeated breach of these campsite rules, and after being formally warned by the manager to comply with them, the manager can terminate the agreement.
In the event of a criminal offence, the manager may call upon the police.
Article 5 - Liability
The campsite accepts no liability for any damage suffered by the camper/caravanner's equipment and caused through their own actions. It is mandatory to have civil liability insurance for your equipment.
Article 6 - Compliance with the GDPR
The information gathered when you make your booking or via our website form is recorded in a digital file by SAS FDBM for use in responding to information requests, managing bookings and generating statistics on customer type (nationality, home region, and frequency/duration of stay).
This information is kept for 1 year for simple information requests and 10 years for customers who proceed to book (accounting requirement). The information is intended for use by the campsite manager, booking department and marketing manager.

Article 7 - Applicable law and consumer mediation
These T&Cs are subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, you may access a consumer mediation procedure.
